³º have unleashed their new album “The Awakening”, º ³
³º with a refined and epic sound. º ³

³º Starting off with the title track “The º ³
³º Awakening”, the band builds up atmosphere for º ³
³º the album with some cool sounds, before a º ³
³º dramatic sounding voice clip gives us a small º ³
³º speech before the song kicks into motion with º ³
³º epic lead guitars over a great sounding beat. º ³
³º The lead vocals are powerful and to the point, º ³
³º with a Power Metal style to them. The song gets º ³
³º things going rather well and lets you know what º ³
³º to expect from this album; some great heavy º ³
³º metal sounds! º ³
³º º ³
³º There’s plenty on offer from this release, from º ³
³º the fast Power Metal attack of “Sacred Signs” to º ³
³º the more NWOBHM-esque sound of “The Last º ³
³º Season”. The band really shows off its ability º ³
³º to play their instruments but also their skills º ³
³º in regards to songwriting, able to keep the º ³
³º songs focussed and hold great choruses together! º ³
³º º ³
³º The band has a lot of melodic playing involved º ³
³º and blends this well with heavier sounds such as º ³
³º on songs like “Rise Like Lions” with its heavy º ³
³º galloping sound combined with soaring vocals and º ³
³º guitar harmonies, and “Turning Of The Tides” º ³
³º which mixes double bass drumming seamlessly with º ³
³º more epic guitar sounds. º ³
³º º ³
³º The production on the album is spot on, with º ³
³º plenty of loudness and chunky guitars, yet with º ³
³º a clarity not always heard of in metal. A big º ³
³º plus is that the bass is nice and audible on º ³
³º this release, and well worth it too because º ³
³º there’s some great playing involved, and it’s º ³
³º becoming a rare thing to have bass guitar parts º ³
³º that the listener can hear and appreciate. º ³
³º º ³
³º Overall this is a fantastic third album from a º ³
³º band that clearly knows exactly what it’s doing º ³
³º and should do really well to solidify their º ³
³º reputation on the global scene as well as in the º ³
³º UK, where epic sounding Metal is seeing a º ³
³º resurgence at the moment. º ³
