³º The album “Sundown on Humanity” is the much º ³
³º awaited opus by the Heavy / Power Metal band º ³
³º ARMAGEDDON REV.16:16 ‘s first full-length CD, º ³
³º however this highly respected band was formed in º ³
³º 1985, and it detained a fervent reputation, some º ³
³º kind of a legendary cult status! Indeed, in º ³
³º their thirty year career for those veterans, º ³
³º this is like the climax of a lifetime º ³
³º dedication, because since then they just have º ³
³º released some demos and EPs, but this is a º ³
³º fantastic step forward and a real cornerstone º ³
³º for them, but does is worth all the band's º ³
³º efforts, through all those years of waiting? º ³
³º “Sundown on Humanity” includes a few surprise º ³
³º appearances by Bob Katsionis (FIREWIND) that is º ³
³º guesting on keyboards and guitar, the famous º ³
³º Nicholas Leptos (ARRAYAN PATH, WARLORD), Tasos º ³
³º Karonias (R.U.S.T.) or Andreas Paraschos (BLYND) º ³
³º on vocals. As Mr. Katsionis also mixed and º ³
³º mastered the record at his own Sound Symmetry º ³
³º Studio in Athens, the production reveal a good º ³
³º density and as expected the sound is quite good, º ³
³º clear and crisp but not too modern very much in º ³
³º perfect concordance with the genre. In fact the º ³
³º style displayed here is Fast/energetic with high º ³
³º pitched vocals and sharp riffage, clearly º ³
³º flavored by the iconic giants tag such as GAMMA º ³
³º RAY / IRON SAVIOR or early LABYRINTH with an º ³
³º important emphasis on Heroic themes and º ³
³º ambiances about Fantasy and Mythology… Or only º ³
³º about Heavy Metal: which is always a good thing… º ³
³º Because Metal is the law! The album clocks at 58 º ³
³º minutes and close with a masterpiece full of º ³
³º Balkan overtones, that magnificent Epic cut “Icy º ³
³º Blackness (Kursk)”, tells the Submarine disaster º ³
³º saga that occurred in the Barens Sea, as a º ³
³º tribute to the crew of the Russian boat Kursk º ³
³º that perished in the summer of 2000. º ³
³º º ³
³º With this track ARMAGGEDON REV 16:16 shows that º ³
³º they have still plenty of resources and great º ³
³º abilities for the future to come… IMHO this is º ³
³º the right path! “Sundown on Humanity” is a very º ³
³º solid release, the players are competent and the º ³
³º singer Jimmy Mayromatis has a powerful and º ³
³º expressive voice but the songwriting is very º ³
³º orthodox, so nothing really new under the sun of º ³
³º Nicosia, so this collection of Metal songs will º ³
³º be valorized only in the hands and ears of the º ³
³º True Metalheads… No modern tricks or º ³
³º contemporary trendy gimmick, just the bold and º ³
³º solid sound of the timeless alloy that flow in º ³
³º our veins. º ³
