Documentary revealing the intensely close relationship forged between orang utan Chantek and his cross species foster mother Dr Lyn Miles. 

Working at the University of Tennessee, Miles taught Chantek how to speak through the use of sign language and after a 10 year period of contact he had attained the cognitive level of a five year old human and linguistic ability of a two year old.
