³º NIVA’s debut album “No Capitulation” was º ³
³º released back in December 1994 by the mighty º ³
³º Japanese label Zero Corporation (RIP), it was º ³
³º recorded with drummer Ian Haugland (EUROPE / º ³
³º exTRILOGY / exBALTIMORE / exBRAZEN ABBOTT) and º ³
³º today it’s a very hard-to-find CD, a real º ³
³º collector item, this disc was back then, a º ³
³º breath of fresh air in this grungy troubled º ³
³º times. º ³
³º º ³
³º But what we could not imagine, is that we should º ³
³ºwait for almost seventeen years, until their º ³
³º second album“Gold From The Future" that was º ³
³º released only in 2011, again it was out in Japan º ³
³º exclusively, but surprisingly it was re-released º ³
³º in 2012 for the European market under the OXYGEN º ³
³º moniker and was titled “Final Warning”… I was in º ³
³º a constant high praise mode while talking about º ³
³º this great album, and I remember have argued º ³
³º repeatedly and fighting with words against the º ³
³º paseist AOR ayatollahs & old cynical defeatists º ³
³º :This was a pure “Scandinavian AOR / Melodic º ³
³º Metal jewel a treat for the starving fans of º ³
³º early EUROPE / FATE / STATE OF MIND / BAD HABIT º ³
³º / TNT and cohort” with an almost instant º ³
³º addictivity risk ! º ³
³º º ³
³º In 2013, “Magnitude” was released by G.Siegl’s º ³
³º AOR Heaven, once again the Japanese edition was º ³
³º differently titled “Gravitation” (?) anyway it º ³
³º was another superb 9.0 Earth-shaking disc (pun º ³
³º intended), a pure Ultra Melodic Metal pearl, º ³
³º performed by a new gang in his full maturity, º ³
³º regrouped and upgraded with skilled musicians º ³
³º and gifted songwriting partners as Roger º ³
³º Ljunggren (exGRAND ILLUSION/exT’BELL) on guitars º ³
³º and Marcus Persson on keys, this was again a º ³
³º triumph, something like the ultimate experience º ³
³º for the MADISON / YALE BATE / TREAT / CRYSTAL º ³
³º BLUE / MASQUERADE / NATION / DREAMHUNTERº ³
³º nostalgics supporters, a tribute to those bands º ³
³º who paved the way for H.E.A.T. / ECLIPSE and º ³
³º SUNSTRIKE and finally a real delight for the º ³
³º demanding experts of Scandinavian Melodic Metal º ³
³º & the enthusiastic specialists. º ³
³º º ³
³º NIVA is sounding like an incredible time travel º ³
³º capsule with at its helm, a talented Swedish º ³
³º singer, Mr. Tony Niva, who began his musical º ³
³º career in Skövde inmid 80’s, building a solid º ³
³º reputation in fronting many (now) famous and º ³
³º historic bands such as ZANITY / SWEDISH EROTICA º ³
³º or AXIA and and he is probably best known for º ³
³º being the Lead Singer in LION’S SHARE, for their º ³
³º come-back album “Entrance” in 2001…Now it’s º ³
³º summer of 2014 and the new album entitled º ³
³º “Incremental IV” is ready and it will be º ³
³º published at the end of August, and you can copy º ³
³º and paste my previous analysis for “Magnitude”, º ³
³º the genre played by the combo, is still clearly º ³
³º tagged in the Swedish first-class AOR, with a º ³
³º wink to the heritage sound of the golden era, º ³
³º with huge wall of keys, soaring vocals, º ³
³º harmonized backing voices and the spiced º ³
³º uplifting melodies in every songs, a tenet that º ³
³º was also extended to the short but brilliant º ³
³º guitar solo spots (“All By Myself”) º ³
³º º ³
³º Vocalist Tony Niva is performing some high º ³
³º pitched impressive performances (“Don’t You º ³
³º Know”/ “Lost And Found”) with a great confidence º ³
³º and a perfect set of pipe working at its peak º ³
³º (“Magnitude”), like a convincing mix between º ³
³º Peter Sundell (exPROMOTION / exGRAND ILLUSION / º ³
³º exDECOY) & Mikael Erlandsson (exCRASH / º ³

³º The music is filled with hooks and highly º ³
³º infectious melodies with thattypical special º ³
³º flavor: an obvious serenity and an attractive º ³
³º AOR / Melodic Rock character with classic º ³
³º overtones, this particular Scandinavian º ³
³º catchiness mania in the silky chorus method º ³
³º (“Crush”) and a convincing anthemic attitude in º ³
³º the strongest 80's fashion . º ³

³º mix of heavenly temperament mixed with a real º ³
³ºfocus on melodic density before anything else, º ³
³º and with a true obsession for the killer hooks º ³
³º of the greatest quality, an awesome revival/trip º ³
³º back to the age of commercial Hard Rock heydays º ³
³º , very comparable to THE POODLES / LOVER UNDER º ³
