Depeche Mode
Delta Machine Tour 2013
Lanxess Arena
Cologne
Germany
2-source merge
artwork included
Sources:
1) AKG CK61 - Nbob Actives - Naiant Tinybox - Roland R-05 (taper: thefallenqueen)
2) Soundman OKM II Rock Micro - Sony MZ-NHF800 (HI-SP Mode) (taper: Domi)
Notes:
The Lanxess arena is well known for its muddy accoustic - the evening Depeche Mode played
there was no exception from that rule.
Though we were standing in a good spot for taping my recording had way too much low end.
The second source recorded by Domi was used to mix in some higher frequencies, unfortunately
there's a fair amount of talking coming from this second source.
Both sources have been remastered independently in a first step.
Then I had to synchronize both sources because for some reason they ran out of speed for
some miliseconds.
I performed a whole lot of level adjustments on both sources to equal the music level and
to reduce the noise of an enthusiastic Cologne crowd.
Some minor eq'ing on both sources has been performed while I used a low cut filter on the
second source to extract the higher frequencies.
You hear both sources playing at the same time but at variable levels in each track.
Finally I cut out about 2 minutes encore break.
A lot of remastering done but no dynamic compression!
Still not 100% happy with the result but a nice upgrade for free leecher!
Format:
My source was recorded in 24bit/48kHz so this 2-source merge also comes in 24 bit.
