De professionele dief Jack laat zich verleiden tot een laatste opdracht voordat hij met pensioen gaat. De opdracht is simpel: het stelen van een tas met een mysterieuze inhoud voor maffiabaas Dragna. Wachtend op de uitwisseling bij een louche motel wordt Jack onophoudelijk gestoord door verschillende excentrieke personeelsleden, de griezelige manager, een corrupte sheriff en de van huis weggelopen knappe Carol. Al snel blijkt dat het afronden van de klus geen gemakkelijke opgave wordt.
